We selected his services after comparing multiple price quotations for extensive works in an old house of character. Trouble started after getting the quotation. His coordination of work with his sub-contractors kept dragging for ever. Appointments with him were missed and postponed often by several weeks. Documents and replies required from him by the architect took weeks. His procrastination led to delays by months. The decision to work with him was taken in October 2021. We informed him that the works inside the house had to start immediately after the end of school and finish by the beginning of the new school term. By August 2022 the work for the inside and outside of the house was not even planned when the full permit for all the works was out by at least 3 weeks. He even changed sub-contractors after all had been agreed with us and the architect with the plastering contractor. To get things done we had to hound him by phone and email until he replied. It was clear he was giving priority to other work with us granted a place on his waiting list. When we challenged him, he stopped answering our calls. While we had delays in getting the permits, I can confirm that the majority of the delay for our work is due to Kevin Schembri. A look at the WhatApp messages would be enough. I will gladly send them! If you are a home owner with a small project stay away from this guy. Do not be fooled by the low- priced quotation - which he will later brag that prices have gone sky high. If you still want to go through with him, bind him with a time and price contract complete with fines from day 1.
